INSHORE
We offer an introduction to ground fishing through our 4 hour inshore trips. These trips mostly target our native ground fish that are found on the inshore ledges.
Inshore trips offer a taste of ground fishing off the coast of Maine without the 30 mile ride. They are perfect for beginners, bachelor/bachelorette parties, young families, people prone to sea sickness and cruise ship passengers.
Booking a 4 hour trip with us leaves time in the day to explore the historic port of Portland or head to the beach.

SHARK
We offer an 8 hour custom shark charter generally starting around August 1st and continuing until late September. Most fishing takes place from 15-25 miles off shore depending on where the best conditions exist. All bait, tackle and instruction are provided . We use Penn 50 class rods and reels and stand up gear.
The primary shark catch is the blue shark which can be up to 300 lbs. The ultimate goal though is the mako, thresher or porbeagle shark.
All of these are attracted to our 5 mile chum slick. We strongly recommend catch and release.

OFFSHORE GROUND FISHING
This trip consists of an 8 hour custom ground fish charter for up to 6 passengers. All rods , tackle, bait and instruction is provided. All fish are filleted and packaged for you to take home.
We will be fishing up to 20 miles off shore in 200-350 ft of water. We catch cod, haddock, pollack, cusk and hake. Some anglers prefer bait while some use the classic “cod jigs”. Both are very effective. These are our most successful trips and often provide close up sightings of whales (humpback, fin back, and minke), dolphins, and the giant blue fin tuna.
We also offer a 6-hour offshore trip.

PRIVATE HARBOR CRUISES
Come join us for a two hour private evening harbor cruise custom to you needs. A harbor tour is a great way to see our historic port while avoiding crowds.
Step back into time to see light houses, forts, fishing boats and all the marine life the Casco Bay has to offer.
Enjoy a spectacular sunset over Portland from the comfort of our 35 ft Downeast style lobster/charter boat equipped with all required USCG safety equipment, a private head, and heat for chilly evenings.

BLUEFIN TUNA
The Bluefin tuna is my favorite fish. These are Giant Bluefin, not Yellowfin or Bigeye. They are one of the smartest fish in the ocean and because of that, the most difficult to catch. If you want non stop action, this is NOT the trip for you. I would recommend a shark trip for that.
These trips tend to be slow and it’s a big waiting game. The payoff can be huge though with fish weighing up to 1000 lb’s. People who like these trips usually have done all the other trip including shark, ground fish, striper, etc and want to roll the dice for the fish of a life time.
I recommend you give me a call to discuss your expectations and also to check on the whether we are seeing some Bluefin in the area since the fish come and go.
Any fish 73 inches or greater becomes property of the boat to sell commercially, a fish under 73 inches is yours to keep or release.

KIDS MACKEREL TRIP
These are 2-hour, family friendly harbor fishing trips. We catch mackerel and harbor pollack. The kids love catching 2, 3 and sometimes more fish at a time and their parents love watching the smiles across their children’s faces!
